Join us: SUIT UP for EQUALITY August 14

If it's August in San Francisco that can only mean one thing: IT'S THE SEASON TO SUIT UP!

We are very pleased to be partnering with our friends at the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) a second year for "SUIT UP for EQUALITY." Last year's inaugural event was such a stellar night of high summer style we knew we had to do it again even bigger: More partners, more parties and more fashion. In addition to getting a front row view of the complete Artful Gentleman Fall '14 and Spring '15 collections as they strut the runway we're also happy to be featuring new creations by Cari Borja/Clothesmaker and Sounthavong. The fashion event of the season isn't happening in the tents at Lincoln Center or the ateliers of Paris: Our grand attic loft at the McRoskey Mattress Factory Building at Gough and Market will be the Bay Area fashion capital for the night. The flash of the cameras, the pop of champagne corks, the staccato click of heals strutting the floor: Have we set the scene for you?

Before the runway enjoy cocktails by Tito's Handcrafted Vodka concocted by the master mixologists from Vigilante Hospitality and foodie delights by Chef Janine Falvo of Top Chef Season 9 while DJs Carol C, Matthew J and Travis G spin. A special pre-show prix fixe dinner is also available as well as an exclusive after party with our fellow designers and models hosted at Daniel Patterson's newest dining experience, ALTA CA, or as we sometimes refer to it at AG headquarters, "the other office."

When we were first dreaming of a way to collaborate with the HRC in a manner only Artful Gentleman could the idea for a pre-gala fashion show was born. The majestic top floor of our showroom on Market Street suggested everything: Standing in the empty space we could see it filled with people, cocktails in hand, as we showed the best and most cutting-edge formalwear for the fall social season. As the historic F streetcar rattled by three stories below we heard the hint of the DJ beat that would fill the space on show night. SUIT UP would be a party with a purpose; people coming together to support equality and to order their favorite looks off the runway for the HRC gala, this year held on October 11.

Most importantly, SUIT UP gives Artful Gentleman a chance to lead San Francisco fashion in giving back to LGBT community that has always supported it. All proceeds from tickets to SUIT UP go to support the HRC's ongoing work for equality, including a percentage from suit orders made that night. If you needed another reason to update your look this fall how about knowing your purchase could help save a life as the HRC continues to battle discrimination across the US?
