JAKE will work with you to choose the best material for your suit or gown from our comprehensive collection of fabrics in a wide range of patterns and colors. We will take into account how the bespoke garment will be used; for instance a business suit endures a great deal of wear and tear, so it will need to be a heavier cloth to ensure it holds its shape and provides longevity. A ball gown has different demands that must be carefully considered. We know how important it is to create the perfect silhouette and so we work closely with our clients to give them an exceptional product.
WHAT IS YOUR HOUSE STYLE?
Classic, modern with an irreverent twist. JAKE bespoke tailoring is focused on precision construction out of the finest quality boutique fabrics. The JAKE style is one that manages to be bold, yet refined, trim in proportions, with an exceptional understanding of an individual’s own body nuances to ensure suiting which makes one look trimmer, well proportioned and impeccable.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
We begin with a StyleSession which includes orientation and an introduction to the world of bespoke clothing and rolls right into reviewing and selecting potential fabrics. Once final fabrics are narrowed down, it is time to talk through details, finishings and take measurements. Once final decisions are made for the making process and payment is received, the JAKE team gets to work on the next steps. Approximately two weeks later, the client returns for their first of a series of fittings which can be concluded in as little as a week. Thus the three week process from start to finish is completed.
DO YOU HAVE SOME EXAMPLES OF YOUR TAILORING THAT I CAN TRY AND LOOK AT BEFORE I ORDER?
The Atelier is filled with examples of our work from various collections through the years. As our bespoke work is all made to perfection for specific individuals or with individuals in mind, you are more than welcome to touch and feel items and even attempt to try them on, but we do not guarantee a perfect fit from showroom samples as they were made for someone and that someone may not be you. They are meant to inspire and provide insight into how a variety of fabrics, details and finishings look when completed.
HOW MANY TIMES WILL I NEED TO VISIT YOU TO HAVE MY SUIT MADE?
We make items the perfect way – our way – and we never want to rush it. We will take as many fittings as it requires, this ensure a client is 100% satisfied. On average you will visit the Atelier for your initial StyleSession and have two to three follow up fittings to ensure perfection on all fronts before you are ready to take your items home.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO HAVE MY SUIT OR GARMENT MADE?
The standard process is three to four weeks based upon client’s availability for fittings. This can be done in less time with an additional rush charge.
WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR A BESPOKE SUIT?
Bespoke suiting starts at $2,595 and works its way up from there based upon the number of pieces included – two-piece versus three-piece – or if they are a specialty fabric or finish like a tuxedo. Prices include all suiting details as well as initial garment alterations to ensure a perfect fit.
WHAT ARE YOUR STANDARD TERMS OF PAYMENT?
Upon final selection of materials and configuration, payment in full is required to move forward in the process.
DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments strongly encouraged. We want to give you our undivided attention, for this reason appointments are great. That said, we are able to juggle things and if you don’t mind a small wait, we can always find a way to work you in for an amazing bespoke experience.
